Student Printing Information

  • Student Printing Allocation:

  • Credit Allocation
    • All registered students are allotted 870 print credits.
    • The print allocation is issued by the first day of the semester for Fall, Summer, Spring, and Winter and is reset twice a year before the start of the Fall and Spring semesters.
    • The allocation permits 870 credits to be used to print in black and white or in color either double-sided(duplex- the default) or single-sided (simplex).
    • Students must be registered for the current semester, have no holds listed in BUBrain and have a current University ID card.
  • Printing Credits
      • Black/White Printing
        • One-sided: 1 credit.
        • Two-sided: 1 credit.
      • Color Printing
        • One-sided: 8 credits.
        • Two-sided: 8 credits.
  • Additional Printing Credits
    • Students who require additional credits for academic purposes can submit a request using the Printing Credit Request Form. Approval is based on course requirements, academic need, and responsible printing practices.
    • You will receive an email when your remaining print credit balance drops below 20% (174 credits). This will help you monitor your usage and give you time to request additional credits if required for academic work.
    • ITS will review submitted requests for additional credits during normal business hours, Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. A request that is received after 5:00 pm, or on the weekends will be reviewed the next business day. If printing is found to not be academic in nature, the review may refer students to alternative printing solutions.
    • Your balance is not charged unless you actually print a document.
