Overview
This article provides instructions for mapping your Faculty or Staff network drives on your Windows PC.
Note: To connect to network drives from off-campus, you must first connect to iVanti VPN.

Windows 10
- Search for, or go to "This PC" (Desktop App)
- Select the Computer tab, then select the icon for Map Network Drive

In the Map Network Drive window:
Select Drive: H, or S.
For your H drive, or personal drive, type the following in the Folder box: username is your BU username followed by the "$" symbol: \\bushare.binghamton.edu\username$
For your S drive, or shared drive, type the following in the Folder box where departmentdrivename is the name of your department or shared folder on bushare: \\bushare.binghamton.edu\departmentdrivename
- Make sure to check the box that says reconnect at log on and select Finish. The drive should open to display the files and folders.
- If you are not logged into your domain account on the PC, Check the box to "Connect using different credentials" and type BU\username (example, BU\jsuny) in the user name field and your BU password in the password field and then click Finish.
Windows 11
- Open File Explorer
- In the left column, select This PC
- On the top Navigation Bar, select the 3 dots and select Map Network Drive
- In the Map Network Drive window:
Select Drive letter
For your Bushre H drive, or personal drive, type the following in the Folder box: username is your BU username followed by the "$" symbol: \\bushare.binghamton.edu\username$
For your S drive, or shared drive, type the following in the Folder box where departmentdrivename is the name of your department or shared folder on bushare: \\bushare.binghamton.edu\departmentdrivename
For Encrypted Research Storage, type the following, replacing usernameORlabname with the name assigned to you you:
\\researchstorage.binghamton.edu\usernameORlabname
- Make sure to check the box that says Reconnect at sign-in and select Finish. The drive should open to display the files and folders.
- If you are not logged into your domain account on the PC, Check the box to "Connect using different credentials" and type BU\username (example, BU\jsuny) in the user name field and your BU password in the password field and then click Finish.
