Overview
A List Owner may see the following error when trying to add a subscriber to a Listserv:
"(email address) is not yet in the signup file. Please specify the full name of the person as in ADD MYLIST JOE@XYZ.EDU Joe H Smith"
If you are adding subscribers in the menu called Subscriber Reports (Under List Management - List Reports) the owner must enter the address and include the person's first and last name. If you omit the name, the form will not accept just the email address and it displays this error: "(email address) is not yet in the signup file. Please specify the full name of the person as in ADD MYLIST JOE@XYZ.EDU Joe H Smith"
If you use the menu under List Management - Subscriber Management instead, you can add a new subscriber and can include the email address alone. The first and last name is not required. If you are adding a subscriber who had previously been added to this list or possibly another Binghamton Listserv, you can add them by email address alone in the Subscriber Reports menu. Listserv keeps track of email addresses and the related names and sometimes carries them over between lists.
