Bulk add Listserv Subscribers

  1. Create a text file with a list of email addresses and names for the students you want to subscribe to your list. If you have an Excel file, the list must have just email addresses in the first column on the left. There can be no column headings. You can add first and last name in the second and third columns if you wish. It is not required. If it is an Excel file, save it as a Text file (tab delimited) (*.txt). Make note of the folder location where you save the Text file.
  2. Log in to http://listserv.binghamton.edu and using the List Dashboard, select the list you want to update. Go to Subscriber Management and select the Bulk Operations tab.

  1. Select the appropriate function either just add or to replace the whole list with your new file, choose Remove all subscribers and add imported address option. There is not a way to undo this selection if you choose to remove all and add the new list, so make sure you have all of the correct information.
  2. Next to “Input File:” click Browse and navigate to the folder where the text file you want to upload is stored and select the file and click Open. Click on the Import button.
  3. At the top of the Subscriber Management page it should tell how many subscribers were deleted and how many were added. Example: DELETE: 670 subscribers removed. ADD: no error, 722 recipients added, no entry changed, no duplicate, none forwarded.
