Welcome to the Binghamton University Wi-Fi Knowledge Base Page! This comprehensive guide will help you connect to our secure and reliable Wi-Fi network, eduroam. Whether you're a student, faculty, staff member, or guest, follow the step-by-step instructions below to get connected and stay connected seamlessly.

Computers
Windows
Follow each section to configure your PC to eduroam
Downloading JoinNow
- Open the network quick settings by selecting the Wi-Fi icon in the bottom-right corner of the task bar

- Select the WiFi option in the network menu

- Select welcome2bing and then click Connect

- A webpage will open. Select Configure Device

- Select JoinNow

- Open your browser downloads and select the installer to run it

- Proceed to the next section of this knowledge base article for steps on how to configure JoinNow on your machine
Note: Sometimes you may get a security popup which you may need to allow the computer to open the installer. To do so, do the following:
- Select the Downloads button in the upper-right corner of the browser
- Select the options button (The 3 horizontal dots)
- Select the Keep option
- Click on the installer to run it
- When the blue window appears, click Run

Configuring JoinNow
- With the JoinNow installer opened, enter your Binghamton credentials. Click Next

- JoinNow will take a few moments to authenticate and connect your device to eduroam. JoinNow will finish this process when you see Joined on the screen
NoteIf you get any permission popup messages during this time, click Accept

- That's it! Your wireless device should be connected to Eduroam

Mac
Follow each section to configure your Mac to eduroam
Downloading JoinNow
- Click the Wi-Fi Option in the upper-right corner of your mac
- Select Welcome2bing from the list of available networks

- A small window will open displaying a webpage. Enter your Binghamton email under the Temporary Guest Access section. Then click Connect

- Once connected, click Close

- Open a web brower and go to https://cloud.securew2.com/public/54174/SectigoMigrate/
- Click JoinNow
- The option Configure via dissolvable Agent should be selected by default
- Verify that MacOS is selected for the selected device

- JoinNow will start to download to your machine. Once completed, open the download
- You can also open the download from the Downloads folder in the Finder

- In the upper-tight corner, click the Secure W2 logo

- A message box will appear. Click Open

- Proceed to the next section of this knowledge base article for steps on how to configure JoinNow on your machine
Configuring JoinNow
- With the JoinNow installer opened, enter your Binghamton credentials. Click Next

- Click Next on the following screen (The JoinNow profile will be installed in the following steps)
- If prompted for a password, enter the password you use to sign into your mac.
- System Settings will open to a screen. Click the profile Binghamton University eduroam at the top of the page
- If the page does not open, you can click Profile Downloaded below your name in the upper-left corner of System Settings

- Click Install in the bottom-left corner

- At the confirmation page, select Install
- If prompted for a password, enter the password you use to sign into your mac.

- Click Allow to the following screen

- JoinNow will take a few moments to authenticate and connect your device to eduroam. JoinNow will finish this process when you see Joined on the screen

- That's it! You should be connected to eduroam

Chromebook
- In the bottom-right corner, click on the Wi-Fi icon and then select the Network Settings

- Select welcome2bing from the list of available networks. After some time, a window should open
- If a window does not open, click welcome2bing (It should say sign in to network below it)
- Select Configure Device
- You may get prompted to install a extension for Secure W2. You should proceed with installing it
- Enter your Binghamton credentials. Then click Download

- Click the web browser tab labeled Network

- At the bottom of the page, click the button Choose File

- Click the SecureW2.onc file in your computer downloads

- Once uploaded, you'll see a number to indicate the file was imported

- That's it! You should now be connected to eduroam

Cellular Devices
iPhone
- Open Settings
- Select Wi-Fi

- Select Welcome2bing from the list of available networks
- A webpage will open. Select Configure Device

- Enter your Binghamton username
- This is usually the first part of your email address. It is NOT your Bnumber
- Click JoinNow

- A message will popup, click Close
- In Settings, click Profile Downloaded
- You could also go to General > VPN & Device Management and select the Binghamton University downloaded profile

- Select Install in the upper-right corner
- Enter your iPhone passcode
- Select Install again when prompted
- In the next screen, enter your Binghamton password

- Click Done in the upper-right corner
- Thats it! Your device should now connect to eduroam

Android
- Open the Google Play store and download the SecureW2 JoinNow app
- If you don't not have cellular data to download the app, continue with the following steps
- Go to your Wi-Fi settings
- Select Welcome2bing from the list of available networks

- A webpage will open. Select Configure Device
- If you could not download the app from step one, enter your Binghamton email for the guess access and complete step one. Downloading the app is the most streamlined way of getting JoinNow to configure on your device

- Click the JoinNow button
- The web page may re-open in your web browser. If so, just click JoinNow again when the page loads again

- The Secure W2 JoinNow app should open and prompt you to enter your Binghamton credentials. Then click Continue
- Click Next on the subsequent screen
- At the bottom of the prompt, click Save

- You should be all connected to eduroam! You can click to button to open your Wi-Fi settings to confirm this
