Phishing Response and Remediation

Service Description

The ITS Information Security (Info Sec) Office, in conjunction with the ITS Help Desk, offers assistance to the Binghamton University community to identify phishing messages early through education and automated systems, and report suspected phishing messages to the Info Sec Office. Each report allows the Info Sec Office to take steps that help prohibit phishing attackers from communicating with Binghamton University in the future.

Beyond that, Info Sec staff can also provide individuals with requirements and next step recommendations should they fall victim to a phishing attack. These recommendations could include, but are not limited to, immediate actions to secure an account or device, and/or suggestions to avoid similar issues in the future.
