Phishing Awareness Training

Service Description

The ITS Information Security (Info Sec) Office provides phishing awareness consultation, training, and educational services, resources, and recommendations to members of the Binghamton University community.

IT Info Sec uses a mixture of in-house and third-party tools and resources to administer training exercises to identify community-reported phishing attempts, and promote best practices for IT identifying similar messages. Info Sec also helps identify methods to report suspected phishing messages and recommends actions to take in the event an individual falls victim to a phishing attack.

Alongside phishing education requests and reports, Info Sec ensures that ITS maintains a publicly accessible location for people to review, among other things, specific examples of actual phishing messages reported by the University community, and general phishing avoidance/identification recommendations.
