Service Description
ITS provides "Research Storage Classic" as a dedicated storage option for research data. Research Storage Classic is encrypted at rest, stored on campus, and fully backed up. For getting started, we recommend a 10GB no-cost trial for Research Storage Classic. We can offer up to 5TB of no-cost storage based on need & availability. Anything over 5TB is subject to a chargeback rate of $52.47/TB/year thereafter unless otherwise specified.
Research Storage Classic - Network Drive (researchstorage.binghamton.edu)
"Research Storage Classic" is a traditional network drive which can be mounted to your computer similar to "H" drives or "U" drives. It requires a Binghamton University network connection, a Binghamton University account (username/password), and is only accessible off-campus via a VPN. If direct manipulation of very large files is required and limited or no external / off-campus access to files is necessary, "Research Storage Classic" may be preferred.
