You have two options for adding a Google Assignment to Brightspace - creating a link in a content area or adding a link to an assignment.
Option 1: Creating a Google Assignment link in your Content Area
1. Navigate to your course and open the Content tool.
2. Create or open an existing module.
3. Click Existing Activities and select Google Assignments.
4. Link your Google Account to Brightspace.
If this is your first Google assignment, a pop-up window will ask you to confirm you would like to link your Google account to Brightspace. Click Link.
5. Add the details of the assignment (due date, total points, instructions, rubric, etc.) you want to create. You can optionally add a template document for your students to work from under Files. Click Create.
6. You are returned to the content area of your course and the new assignment link is visible in the module you were working in.
Option 2: Adding a Google Assignment link to a Brightspace assignment.
1. Navigate to your course and open the Assignments tool.
2. Create a New Assignment.
3. Add a Name, Score, and Instructions.
4. Click the Attach Link to Existing Activity button.
5. Select Google Assignments.
6. Link your Google Account to Brightspace.
If this is your first Google assignment, a pop-up window will ask you to confirm you would like to link your Google account to Brightspace. Click Link.
5. Add the details of the assignment you want to create if you did not add this information on the Brightspace Assignment page. You can optionally add a template document for your students to work from under Files. Click Create.
6. You are returned to the Assignment creation area. Turn the visibility on and click Save and Close.
Grading Google Assignments
1. If you chose option 1 - content area, navigate back to the module where you added the Google Assignment. If you chose option 2 - Brightspace Assignment, click the action arrow next to the assignment name and click edit the assignment

2. Click on the student's name to view their submission.
3. You can add a grade and overall feedback. You can also suggest and add comments to the actual document itself. Click Return to submit the feedback and grade to the student.
4. The grade for the assignment appears in the grade book.
