The Issue
Some TAs and Learners who were manually added to a Brightspace course are unable to see or work within the Groups or Gradebook sections of a course.
The Cause
This was a bug within D2L that they fixed, but the fix only applies to after the fix was made, not retroactively. Those have to be fixed manually.
The Fix
Instructors (and Administrators) are the ones within Brightspace who can fix this.
Steps:
- Go to the course where the issue is. (If the issue is in several courses, each must be done separately unless they are cross-listed or sections are associated)
- On the NavBar, click "Course Tools," then "Course Admin"

- Select "Sections" (TIP: if you have difficulty finding items in the Course Admin panel, change the sorting from Sections to Name and they will alphabetize)

- Click on "Enroll Users"

- There will be an empty square next to the person(s) having issues. Click inside the box(es) to add a check mark

- Hit "Save" at the bottom in blue
