Overview
When adding users to your courses or organizations you must assign a role for them. These roles specify how much access they have to the course or organization.
The roles that we currently have are:
- Instructor
- TA
- Grader
- Course Builder
- Learner
This table lists some of what these roles can and cannot do.

Full access to course management tools
Can see all sections & groups
Can enroll users in the following roles: Grader, Course Builder, Instructor, TA, and Learner

Teaching Assistant
|
Can see only learners in sections where they are enrolled
Can access most course management tools
Visible in the Classlist

Enroll / Remove users
Change Enrollments
Set Accommodations or Special Access in the Classlist, Assignments, or Quizzes
Export Course Content Packages

Learner access relies entirely upon the instructor’s discretion. Learners only have access to course components made available to them.

Guest
|
Can view course materials.
Can take quizzes and submit assignments.
|
Cannot view Classlists nor Discussions.
Will not appear in the gradebook.
