Printable codes for CAS 2FA One-Time-Password

Body

Printable codes

After you have successfully enrolled in your preferred CAS 2FA authenticator app option, it is a good idea to set up a backup in the event that your phone or computer is not available. After you set up your authenticator app option, you can return to the Password Portal and create a set of printable One-Time-Passwords.

Follow these steps to create a list of 10 One-Time-Passwords that can each be used once.

1. Access the Password Portal to create a new token using this direct link:

https://password.binghamton.edu/cas#forgot_otp

You may also go to https://password.binghamton.edu and select the option for "I know my username / password / one-time-password (OTP) and I want to configure my second factor authentication (2FA) ."

2. Log into CAS using your Binghamton University user name, password and second factor One-Time-Password.

3. Once you are logged in, select the button for "Create New Token."

4. In the first box under "Two-Factor-Authentication (2FA) Token Type", select "Printable One-Time-Passwords", then enter your date of birth (formatted as the example including the slashes) and click "Submit".

5. The next screen will display a list of One-Time-Passwords including a print button. Click the button to print the list.

Store the printout in a secure location such as your wallet or a locked desk drawer.

Each code can be used once. If all 10 codes are used, return to the Password Portal and delete the token named "Printable One-Time-Passwords" by clicking the "Delete" button under the Actions column and repeat the "Create New Token" process to get another printable list.
