Overview
Chrome book devices can use the JoinNow wireless configuration tool.
Steps to Join Eduroam through the JoinNow tool
- Join welcome2bing
- Open the captive portal page in a browser.
- Open the click here link in a new tab
- Input an email address to get onto the guest wifi
- In the JoinNow tab, open the chrome extension download in a new

- Download the Chrome extension.

- Click Add Extension in the pop up

- You will get a confirmation pop up when it is successful.

- Go back to the JoinNow tool tab, refresh the page. There should be a credential login screen.

- Enter your BU credentials. Note that the extension will not validate that they are correct. Make the right username and password are used.
- Then click on download. This will download the .onc file.
- Next switch to the network tab.

- Scroll all the way to the bottom of the page and find the Import ONC File

- Click on Choose file and Browse to your downloads folder.
- Locate the SecureW2.onc file and click open.

- When successfully you will see Networks imported under the Choose file button.

- Open up your Wifi Networks.
- Click eduroam to join
- Forget welcome2bing
Join Eduroam by Manually setting wifi settings
- Forget the eduroam network.
- Click on eduroam.
- Change the EAP method to PEAP

- Choose MSCHAPv2 for the EAP Phase 2 authentication. For Server CA Certificate choose Do Not Check. For the Domain Suffix match enter binghamton.edu

- Next enter your username in the identity section. Enter your Password in the Password field. Leave Anonymous Identity field blank
- Click Connect and you will be connected to eduroam.
